How should textured hair use dandruff shampoo?
About once a week, if tolerated, and only on the scalp. The American Academy of Dermatology says the ingredients that treat dandruff can dry curly or coily hair.
What AAD says
If you have coarse or naturally curly or coily hair, wash when needed and use dandruff shampoo about once a week. Apply it only to your scalp.
Then care for your hair
After the dandruff shampoo, you can shampoo and condition with your usual products if your hair needs it.
When to stop
Stop a product and see a board-certified dermatologist if you get burning, swelling, blistering, hives, or symptoms that get worse. Get urgent help for trouble breathing or swelling of the face or lips.
